Pain-Free Marketing for Employment Lawyers

Publish your law blog on Kindle

The surge in Kindle adoption has provided yet another avenue of law marketing for lawyers seeking new ways to reach their target audience. If your ideal client is reading Kindle then they could find your blog on it (and soon also via the Kindle app for mobile phones) and at the very least you will get some of that  kudos that goes with being on a new platform. It's quick and easy to do and costs absolutely nothing.

You have to log on to Amazon to publish your blog. It's free to publish as you might expect, and Kindle will decide the price of your subscription.

Anyway, the point is that Amazon had published this blog on Kindle within 18 hours and I was grinning with pride as I realised the powers that be had rated the subscription to be worth £1.99 per month. Of course, most readers will just take a look and then unsubscribe within the 14 day free trial period when they realise they can read it for free on the internet. That's not a problem because for me, the point of the whole law marketing exercise is to gain new readers so that I can tell them about our online marketing systems.

Even if they don't unsubscribe, Amazon takes the lion's share of the revenue anyway and so it is likely to be a small revenue stream at best, especially if you operate in a niche market as I do. (There aren't that many 'UK based employment lawyers seeking to market their practice online' by reading blogs on Kindle!)

Marketing for Lawyers, was ranked #3 for the keyword phrase 'marketing for lawyers' (no surprise there) but when I searched for 'legal marketing' another popular search term, I had to scroll through to #92 which is so far down the list that even 'Lemon Law: How to know if your car is a lemon or not' gets higher billing. Not exactly a triumph for me in law marketing terms! But not bad if you take it in context of the first 18 hours of publication. I had better get stuck into some law marketing research on how to rise up the Kindle rankings.

If you want to find out how to publish your blog on Kindle you may find this article useful and here is where to start publishing on Amazon.
