Pain-Free Marketing for Employment Lawyers

Lawyers can use Twitter to Connect with Local Customers

Niche marketing for lawyers is all about knowing who your target audience is and then mixing in the places where that group hangs out. Most lawyers want to connect with local clients and employment lawyers who want to grow their commercial practice need to connect with local businesses.

The obvious places to start include Chamber of Commerce and other well established networks, but have you thought about exploiting your online connections for local networking purposes?

Social Media Examiner is a mine of expert information and I wish I had more time to spend reading its excellent articles. The reality is somewhat different but when a headline comes along like this one I just can't ignore it. Here is the link to the full article. '5 Ways to Use Twitter to Connect With Local Customers'

You can use Twitter basic or advanced search to find local people talking about local issues and the Social Media Examiner article provides lots of practical tips so I won't repeat them here.

However, once you find these local Tweeters, what do you do with them?

You could keep Tweeting back and forth but as a lawyer I like using Linked in rather than Twitter so I ask my reciprocal Tweeters to link up with me on Linked in if possible. This works like a dream in my experience. Why would anyone refuse such a polite invitation?  Once they accept my invitation they can't help but check out my profile and that is when they will find out more about me and the services my firm offers. This is niche marketing for lawyers at its best.
